Now this is a very INTERESTING "chestnut" TB mare!? Would love to see her in good light. I must go look at her family, hope there are photos.

I've seen her sire and broodmare sire personally and they are 100% normal. I think it's mostly the lighting that's making her look funny. That and I suspect she's clipped.

The first thing that crossed my mind was actually dun, but seeing her pedigree it's virtually impossible. She's definitely not champagne (skin is too dark) and her color isn't right for palomino IMO.

I sure would like to see more photos.

She has a flaxen mane and tail is all. Not unheard of in chestnuts.

AND, she's a pretty color too... but I'm much more impressed with the bloodlines.

Yes, I admit, I didn't get into her pedigree except looking at parent and GP color as I am taking a break at the moment from looking at racing pedigrees, and since she was all the way in WA state, I thought it would just be fun to comment on her beautiful color. I'm happy for you that you discovered all that

well, considering her sire's stud fee is $10,000 and she is an A++ nick, I'd say there was some planning done.

He looks more like a light bay to me, with a silver gene with that tail. Looks like his front fetlocks want to be black and not chestnut...........unless he walked through ashes or something black which is doubtful........

The gelding is probably a wild bay. It lightens up the coat and restricts or eliminates the black on the legs. Nice looking guy though.
