I just wanted to bump up this thread to say that my mare and her beautiful colt are both here today because I was there and was able to summon help when needed. It was very tough emotionally to go through all that drama but nowhere near as tough as it would have been to come out to find a dead mare with a foal sticking half out of her one morning. I never would have forgiven myself if I allowed that to happen due to sheer laziness.

The milk tests told me exactly when to be watch but I watched a lot longer anyway just in case. She has had two textbook deliveries so nobody was expecting this. The legs were in place but the head was turned back plus he was a really big boy.
