That's very sad - I really want Curlin to succeed. Hoping long, happy, productive lives for the rest of his offspring.

That is heartbreaking :( I think it is miraculous when a foal makes it to the races considering all the obstacles they face. I had the scare of a lifetime when my maiden mare kicked her foal in the ribs last year :o I was alerted to the problem when I heard her sad little whinnies to mom and found her blowing blood out of both nostrils. Thankfully she made a full recovery.
