black foals (pic)

Not a Thoroughbred, but here is an example of what a black foal can look like. Note the muzzle color.

Sunday Silence,

I know you have done a great job through the years on pinpointing many many interesting black Thoroughbreds. I ask to myself: is it possible to retrieve and update the old list into a master list and post it here? Would really like to browse all those names.
Great effort Sunday Silence!

Thanks for the complement.

I could try it. I moved in November and bought a laptop, so retrieving the list may not be easy. Give me a week or two.

RHF is very happy to have bought a full sister to the exotic black overo filly MATOKA'S MARQUE, a true black filly that could be homozygus black. She is definately a rabicano as her dam ALOMA'S PRINCESS is also a black and loud rabicano TB mare. Aloma has also been purchased from Lisa Frank at Orchard View Sporthorses by RHF. We look forward to breeding REMARQUEZ back to Aloma right away in hopes for a loud B/W overo colt in 2011, one can always hope.........but if it happens to be another filly and look like our filly or Matoka, we will be very happy! Our unnamed filly definately seems like she is going to be taller than both parents of 16 hands.

Thank you HH. We have some decent photos up now. He is a well conformed stallion and stands at a solid sticked 16 hands. Fantastic attitude, and a dream to handle. It is late in the season, but we will be trying to get a small number bred to him still this year, and of coarse giving him some of our permenant mares and new ones in 2011. Even if Remi doesn't pass his overo gene on to his foals, he has textbook hunter movement, and we will be free jumping him to see what kind of jumping form he has. http://www.reedhillfarm.net/remarquez.html

Gotta love Remi's BELLY SPOT...I didn't know he had one....

I didn't know he had the white extending on the right side of his mouth, he has roan patches on his face, his front right lower leg is roaned where a 1/2 stocking would be, and the white belly spot I didn't know of either. He has a very regal presence about him.

Thank you. We now have some super photos of Aloma's Princess dam of 2009 MATOKA'S MARQUE filly and her 2010 filly we will name (FADE TO BLACK). The filly we bought looks bay but her face and body is turning jet black with no hint of tan anywhere, all shedding spots are black, her tail is very frosted/skunked, she has white hairs at her wither so far. We will have her tested for overo and homozygus black. They are a very well conformed family. Lisa Frank's vision when breeding this pair was right on point! http://www.reedhillfarm.net/remarquez.html
