Honestly? You want my honest opinion un-sugar coated?

She is well and truly awful ...

Horrible neck and shoulder, unfeminine head from what one can tell, long in the pasterns, decent back length, decent hind end. She has that dip in front of her withers and her neck is bordering on a ewe neck and her head is just stuck on the end of the neck - there is no "flow" to any parts of her coming together ...

Truly - even for free I wouldnt be interested in her for any breeding purposes whatsoever. If someone wanted her for a games or gymkhana mount - go to it - but if your plans are ever to breed her, I'd say please dont do it ...

But why even CARE if she is rabicano or not??? :?

She is a horrible example - conformation wise - in almost every possible way, so what does it matter what colour she is or what colour genetics she possesses when all she has going for her is a functioning uterus and ovaries and thats probably about it??? :?

Why????? :?

Because you asked us "knowledgeable folks" to comment on her conformation so you could make a decision. Which I did. Which I stated was awful in every possible way.

Now - if you had asked "What colour is this mare and no - I am NOT thinking of buying her, I am just curious what you all think her colour is" - whole 'nuther ballgame. We wouldnt even have touched on the conformation part and concentrated on purely the colour alone

So - buy her. Put her into your breeding program. Makes no difference to me  . You asked some questions and you got some answers. Sorry if you dont like them ...

Well the headline does say "possible purchase" so it indicates you may want to buy her. I would say she is Rabicano

ACC doesn't mean in pattern. She means the mare looks to be conformed like a lot of apps she has seen, and that means quite badly.

I also agree with her and TCF the mares ugly.

I don't like her short ewe neck, nor her straight-ish shoulder or her front pasterns.. that said it could be a very bad photo.

She is awful. Color or no, she should not head into the breeding shed. I agree with ACC - she looks like an App & that is not a good thing.

Quite frankly she looks like an app to me color wise too (which is ALSO a bad thing for my personal tastes). That does not look like a normal form of rabicano to me, but it seems there is no other explanation.

But yes, RMT is right, I mostly meant conformationally, and that's a very bad thing.

Easy there, tiger.

I think that the OP is trying to learn about conformation, color, etc, and isn't not trying to defend some sinister plot to breed a horse for color, quality be damned.

Unless the whole thing is totally over my head, I say be nice. She is asking a question. Apparently, she must think that the posters on this forum are knowledgeable folk on the subject.

It's a compliment. Take it.

I would never judge too fast on a photo alone. I can stand you up one of my best mares so that she looks like pure crap, but if presented nice and correct she looks as what she is, a premium awarded main book mare.

So I always would ask for more pictures and the horse stood up correctly and then you can judge.
