How does a horse that just worked last week have fungus on her hips? Plus she looks quite thin. Terrible stable/grooms/trainer?
I hope she finds a good home.

IF I were still in the horse biz I would give this girl a look. What's not to like for $400?

By GULCH

All broodmare sires are chefs.

1st dam didn't do much, but I also can't find many foals. Her catalog page from 2005 is here: https://secure.keeneland.com/livesales/ ... onid=39016

2nd dam is the graded stakes horse Key Flyer, a full sister to Key Dancer. Their sister Dancing Key produced Japanese champion Dance in the Dark and a few other stakes winners.

BUT.... I'm outta the biz. Someone else go buy her!

Yep... Fungus on her hips (both), her back and a LITTLE bit on her head.
Halter rub marks all over her face.. Her feet look like CRAP and she did work the 9th and was entered at River downs on the 12th and scratched since she was sitting in our barn I guess. At first everytime you raised your hand to pet her she shy'd away.. So who know what happend to her but it sure wasn't good.
Sad SAD situation. I don't want her to go back to that bad situation.

We did none of that to her. We have had her since the 11th.

She is also close to 17hands. I was off when I said 16.2hh.

Sale pending - but If someone is interested please send me an e-mail. I do not check PM's...
I am not sure that home will work out for her.. or not..

no, that catalog page is her dam... Diamond. She's the third one down if you scroll lower.

It's a very good family!

someone take her, breed her to a Sunday Silence son, and sell her back to Japan. See how quickly I solve these things? How could I possibly have gotten out of the business? Boggles the mind, eh?

That's a lot of pedigree for $400.

She sold for 60K in January '05--the sale where her page is from.

Wow - what a nice pedigree. She could come live in my barn anytime - but it sounds like she already has a new home lined up.

That's the unlucky thing for her. Her dam (who was unplaced in two starts) only produced one other named foal before she died, and that was an unraced gelding.

So any foals out of this Gulch mare are going to have absolutely nothing in or under their first two dams other than this Gulch mare herself (who won a few cheap races). And there's no chance of that changing anytime soon (the only thing that could change that would be if this Gulch mare throws a nice runner, but even if she accomplished that with her very first foal it's a minimum of four years away).
