BEDUINO -- HiStory

Postby Jorge » Sun Aug 15, 2010 9:42 am

Very interesting story on a super sprinter Thoroughbred who because of leg problems (can't turn on curves), was devoted to quarter horse racing in Mexico where he beat the best quarter horse racers, including top US rivals who went there to compete against him and lost.

Alas the article is in only Spanish. Let me see what can I do. :D

Funny I remember him but back then didn't realize he was a TB!

He was quite the looker!!

This is not a complete translation but here a few highlights on the article:

Justo Fernández Avila sold him as a yearling and bought him it back with the idea of running him in straight tracks only. His pedigree was full of highly extraordinary sprinters.
He became a legendary horse in quarter horse races. He earned more money as a stallion than as a runner for he became a Chef-de-Race. Many are still running in Mexico and the US.
He beat the famous Iracundo, Gabalungo, Chariwari. Later he also encountered and defeated Come Six.
