When auction sales are down almost 50% nationwide, Keeneland is going to get hurt big time.

You cannot live above your means no matter who you are, at least Keeneland woke up and took action unlike the Wall Street Fools. Times are tough ,the Monopoly money of the past 10 years is gone and the ridiculous prices for yearlings is correcting itself. At least they are not crying for a bailout! It's happening at several tracks now but I guarantee that management will still have a job!

Actually - management won't have a job.

Just look at the other too most recent posts in General Discussion. Big cuts at Suffolk in MA, Sam Houston cutting dates in TX, and the silliness that is SoCal where they may well kill the goose that laid the golden egg.

When tracks close, management does lose their jobs - perhaps with a golden parachute tho.
