See I JUST DONT UNDERSTAND PEOPLE. R.A. IS THE FAKE HOY. ZENYATTA has proven herself time and time again. SHe doesnt have other FILLIES that defeat her.
BUT I JUST DONT UNDERSTAND PEOPLE.THEY ARE SO BUTT BLIND WHEN IT COMES TO HORSE RACING.
I dont know.
Whats even sadder is that Fred Stone has R.A. on a plate but not Zenyatta! WTF!

You know what guys iM not going to change my mind. Just because I say what I think doesnt make me immature.
Just because you are not used to having people here speak their mind, thats too bad. BDW- when you have a horse that runs well in the West Coast and gets ignored because you are not a favorite in the press all the time by all, then you will see what I mean. AND BDW your thoughts on this site havent been the best either.
Diomed. Get over it!, its too bad that I make you feel uncortable but I guess that just because I am a women and I speak my mind. Im not changing it. I see the west coast racing is being ignored. Much like Curlins HOY when he was defeated on turf and in the Breeders Cup in Ca. and at Belmont against a good filly. Its all about who can kiss each others behinds the best. People use the track surface as an excuse to not recognize anything fantastic.
I wonder how Blind Luck has been running, maybe she'll take a shot with Zenyatta have a real horse race instead of when and how J.J and his trainer will get into the news and when R.A. will run up against another short field of fillies.
No Im not going to respond to anymore, I dont care what you think of my posts from here on in. It s just wrong to have a HOY lose the majority of the time and over look BETTER horses that are out there. What does that say for Horse Racing?
THATS WHY NO FRESH BLOOD WANTS IN. THATS WHY HORSE RACING IS GOING DOWN HILL. Everyone is afraid of standing up for what is right and sticking to kissing each others behinds.

Karen, it might not be WHAT you say as much as HOW you say it. By the way, what does "uncortable" mean? Is it really "uncourtable" as in he/she can't go out on dates?
Perhaps you could try using a grammar/spell checker prior to posting, in order to be taken more seriously

So Run for the Roses, as fast as you can.....
Ah, wisdom from the mouth of our proverbial "babe" - bdw makes the point. My father, a very wise man, told me you have the right to THINK whatever you want but you may not be best served by saying it. At least use tact and phrase things well. It is possible that your opinion might be based on narrowness of thought, perhaps, and that it is not shared, nor admired, by others.

Back to the Big Z.
I'd like a couple of other folks to weigh in on her running style.
What I'm seeing is a horse that has learned to play to the crowd, and who doesn't like to run alone on the front end. So the trick for her rider is to keep her out of trouble --which he does by loafing along in last place--figure where the other horses are, time the stretch run so that she blows by the other horses--get to the front before the wire--and before she finds herself alone on the front and starts to play to the crowd.
Great riding from Mike Smith by the way, that can't be easy to do.

Just like wishing a rider would take a fall so you can have them replaced before they can mount your horse, right?
People in glass houses and all that...........
Let me start out by saying I am a fan of both Zenyatta and Rachel Alexandra. Since this whole HOY thing got so out of hand I realized it comes down to the human factor and has nothing to do with the horses. We saw Rachel Alexandra commence a wild ride in her 3YO campaign and it seems it took a toll on her as a 4YO.....but that campaign won her HOY honors....human factor. I also don't think she's finished by any means, so long as she is in good shape when they bring her back to the track. There was good reason for her to get beat at Saratoga, engaging in a speed dual with a class horse that reeled off 6 consecutive wins can take it's toll on any horse....let alone one that is trying 1 1/4 for the first time. Yet, she has shown to be very vulnerable right now and this would be the perfect time for Zenyatta to come to NY to run in the Beldame.....whether or not Rachel Alexandra decides to run in it or run to the breeding shed. If Z's connections don't make this move, Zenyatta will be in the same dilemma she was in last season when it comes to the year end awards. She has to do like her 3YO state mates did.....come to the East Coast and prove you are all that. Look at Blind Luck and Lookin at Lucky, both in line for year end 3YO honors, both California based horses. The reason Zenyatta had no chance last seaon to beat RA for HOY was that fact alone. She needs to come to NY and win a race as prestigeous as the Beldame. Not to mention if she won and shut down Persistently....who shut down Rachel would be an apples to apples comparison and a big feather in Zenyatta's cap. That would set the stage for a run at best older filly or mare....then if she follows it up with a respectable....not even a win in the BC Classic the powers that be would have to recognize her as one of the all time greats and not as a restricted California synthetic track horse. Before you all go off, this isn't a knock on Zenyatta....it's simply how she is categorized because she is on the west coast limited to synthetic tracks and has never won on the dirt in the east coast......human factor! Blind Luck and Lookin at Lucky would never be contender's for year end honors if they stayed in California.....human factor!Unfortunately there is a stigma attached to the synthetic track horses and unless they come east and win on dirt against the best they are written off as a regional horse. This is a great opportunity for Zenyatta's camp to pounce on this and win the Beldame and prove what all her fans would love to see her prove. When you consider the Beldame has been run since 1939....won by so many great distaffer's including Personal Ensign, Susan's Girl, Lady's Secret, Desert Vixen, Gamely, Waya, Shuvee, Go For Wand, Cicada, Ruffian and so many more. For Zenyatta to win a race like that....it would do so much for her bid for HOY consideration/honors. If she doesn't make this move, she will once again be in the same position as she was last season and under the gun to win the Classic over an unfamiliar dirt course to secure HOY. The distinction this year over winning the Classic last year is that she will be winning the Classic over the dirt against the best dirt horses in the country after getting in the history books as the winner of the Beldame.......which is weight for age, she won't have to give anyone a package of weight.....how can you pass this up................HUMAN FACTOR!!!
