A pally Lacy .... omg would THAT be adorable! I'm telling you, that kid would have to be kept under lock and key, away from me! PA / KY are not that far apart. And I have friends with trailers.

Ok, stallion is a true black and homozygous. I can't find Miss Madisons file though. If you saw my office at the moment you'd understand. And there would have been no reason for her owner to have tested anything with her so it's up to me. There aren't any 'drive thru' DNA test windows around are there?

I'll keep looking.

Excellent!!

I'd love to know he agouti status as it would tell us alot of different things, especially if she's 'aa'. The closest to a drive through is the week or so return speed and only $25 cost of Animal Genetics.

Ok. So this is what we've got assuming she's 'aa':
25% black solid (with the possibility of the sire's white)
25% black dominant white
25% smokey black solid (with the possibility of the sire's white)
25% smokey black dominant white

If she is indeed 'Aa' this is what you might get:
12.5% black solid solid (with the possibility of the sire's white)
12.5% black dominant white
12.5% smokey black solid (with the possibility of the sire's white)
12.5% smokey black dominant white
12.5% bay solid (with the possibility of the sire's white)
12.5% bay dominant white
12.5% buckskin solid (with the possibility of the sire's white)
12.5% buckskin dominant white

However if she is 'AA':
25% bay solid (with the possibility of the sire's white)
25% bay dominant white
25% buckskin solid (with the possibility of the sire's white)
25% buckskin dominant white

Oh my! If breeding a chestnut to a cremello... I can understand and figure out those results all by myself.

Ok I've got to be in Buffalo Wed so I'll steal some hairs  on my way past Madison and mail them from there. You guys have such fast mail service I should have an answer pretty quick. Maybe I'll send in some Ripley hairs while I'm at it.

Seems like a plan.

As always, thanks ACC.

Edited to fix numerous typo's and say ... I just remembered that you had the foal sexed and it IS a filly. Oh yeah, thieving plans in progress!

Oh yeah. I had results from them in about 4 days (over a weekend no less). Our mail is pretty good.

I would test Ripley for 'At' at Pet DNA if it were me.

Yeah HH, I know she does.

BUT, I just thought of something. What's the point of checking the mare if I can't get her to breed? That one will probably wait but I will (finally) send in Ripleys hairs.

That list will do for now as part of my plea bargain.

Thanks again ACC!

Well that's why I gave you the possibilities depending on what she's carrying. I agree no point doing it until you know something further. I really hope it works out for you.
