Now that's some serious money changing hands. Wonder what happened.

Why would he sell out...by the article, everything was `perfect`and continues to be `perfect`...why sell out your half but continue to do business etc?

Casner was certainly the face of Winstar but who put what in to the original partnership? That may be the answer to the question.

Sysonby: I give up. What is it that you are not saying about Casner's exit? There is more to this than a beneficial financial deal. The original partnership deal already had some pretty hefty perks attached.

I'm no insider. It's just my experience that many business partnerships have unequal divisions between money people and front/administrative people. Knowing who was who often explains ultimate dissolutions.

It's extremely interesting that the fellow w/out the long term breeding and racing experience ends up with the Winstar rights and Casner gets to board his mares and possibly some partnerships with Troutt in future. Maybe there is a "reality show" plot here?

I'm sure you're headed in the right direction. Troutt was the original brains behind the billion dollar corp., and Casner was fortunate enough to be a good friend (not that he's an idiot  ) who was let in on the business deal almost from the beginning.

"The industry should take comfort in knowing that WinStar is my main focus after my faith and family. As my children have grown over the last 10 years, I can see the possibilities with them for the future. We look forward to the opportunities that lie ahead.”

Sounds to me like it is going to be a family business.
