I bought a nice Sultry Song mare at Keeneland November in 2007, named Smoldering. She was in foal at the time to Ecton Park - I sent the mare up to Indiana to foal, got the Ecton Park filly registered as an Indiana bred, and got her sold into a solid racing home... fast forward to 2010 and I have a big bruiser of a colt out of Smoldering by Rocking Trick. I was just looking up her family the other night and I came across Hot Money, who was just a yearling when I bought the mare. He seems to be a pretty nice horse - has earned over $128K to date, and run and won in some pretty good company up in New York.
Smoldering is an every-second-year kind of mare - she gives EVERYTHING to her foal and no matter what kind of food we stuff her with she loses weight. Sh needs to have the foal weaned, and take the summer off to fully recover before her next pregnancy. So I suppose that's why she was sent to Keeneland. One man's trash is another man's treasure...

Hi Madelyn,
That horse won't hurt your chances with the latest foal....He won this season at Saratoga.....and he's trained by Christophe Clement. TJ
