I was surprised, as most of the time the vote advantage East of the Mississippi would have Blame HOY. Congrats to Z, and her work force, a job well done.

I am so happy for Z!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!I didn't even want to watch the E awards thinking she wouldn't get it again. It's not about thinking Blame shouldn't win because he's a wonderful horse and represented everything a champion should be. But Z....well....she's a once in a lifetime experience. She got people in my life interested in racing who are STILL interested in racing because of her! I think Zenyatta came to mean even more to me because I was at the Breeder's Cup races and we met an 88-year-old man who traveled all the way from Ireland by himself to watch the races, and to see HER. He represents horse-racing fans everywhere who know magic when they see it on a race track. Zenyatta was magical. The Australians understand, because they had Makybe Diva. Other continents have had their great mares, and we in America were due for our once-in-a-lifetime mare.
