From TB Champions Forum...
JBBA Farms (Silver Charm, Charismatic and about 20 other US horses) are ALL OK. Safe and sound!

Relieved!

Instructions/Instrucciones:

Place the mouse on the lateral border of each photograph and slide it from left to right (or viceversa) and you will observe each map of Japan before and after the tsunami.

Coloque el cursor encima del borde lateral de cada fotografía y deslícelo de izquierda a derecha (o viceversa) y observará cada mapa de Japón antes y después del maremoto (“tsunami”).

here is an e mail that I got from the new york office

Hello,

Thank you for your concern.
We have suffered some damages for grand stands at race tracks and OTB facilities. However, there are not any reports of the damages to horses in our properties all over the country, fortunately.
We have heard horses in a training center named Yamamoto TC, which owned and operated by Shadai Farm, are also fine. The training center is one of the nearest farms from the epicenter.

Our barn buildings are quake resistance and each building has sprinklers against the fire. They also have some rooms for people and hundreds of neighbors have evacuated to our buildings in Fukushima where is close to the epicenter. Fortunately, it is not racing season for the track now and only some lead ponies are there.
Sincerely,

Yutaka Yokoyama

and you also don't see any 42" tv's being hustled from best buy either - the people have respect for other people (especially the elderly relatives) and animals - no sense of entitlement there like it was here in hurricane Katrina - it would appear that the government is doning all that it can in a terrible situation -

this was the first thing i thought of after the disaster....how unlike the low lifes in new orleans behaved......why am i not shocked at this ? some people{too many} have a sense of entitlement...and thats why they never get anywheres in life...its nothing but out and out government welfare ideology....."i deserve it"..the people of japan could teach us a thing or two....and this from a country who was our mortal enemy at one time...boy how times change.

If I had a horse in Japan right now I'd want to get it out of there but I'm sure flying horses is not a priority right now.

maybe madeline paulson should have a rescue flight from Japan - she or any of the other big name racing people should try to save some of those Stallions from possilble danger - like eating radioactive grass & bring them home

Not only eating contaminated feed but Japan is in such shaky shape right now that horse feed might become a very low priority.
I think Japan imports most of their (human) foodstuffs and I doubt that that small crowded country grows all its own animal feed.
