Hallo,
maybe you are all intersted to read that Animal Kingdom has a German damline and later will become one tracing back to Hungary.

Here is an overlook about this strain of Fam. 1-h:
Fam. 1-h Desidera (Shaadi), Buen Ojo (Craganour), Ethnarch (The (Tetrarch), Mon Talisman (Craig an Eran), Amant de Coeur (St. Amant)
Diasprina (Aspros) - Dirndl (Dschingis Khan) - Didergö (Imi) - Duzzogo (Sultan Mahomed) - Dubiosa (Duce) - Abeba (Balbinus) - Az I Hired (Dolomit) - Ardentrive (William The Third) - View (Martagon) - Scene (Springfield) - Helioscene (Hampton) - Sunshine (Thormanby)
Frille (Shareef Dancer), Fire King (Teenoso), Dunure/Greenan (St. Simon)
Frille (Shareef Dancer) – Favourite Prospect (Mr. Prospector) – Valiant Queen (Bold Ruler) – Valis Regina (Count Speed) – Valley Lass (Questionaire) – Captress (Chatterton) – Tetrarch’s Captive (The Tetrarch) – Captured (Earla Mor) – Bird i‘ t‘ Hand (Gallinule) – Bush (Bushey Park) – Cheery (St. Simon)
Granddam of Phalaris

Didergö/Dicsekvö (FS) were imported in 1967 and 1971 from Hungary (Kisber Stud). According a report in my country breeders magazine, this line was regarded in Hungary around 1970 as mediocre.

Not to forget the American Sire High Time ist from the smae damline.

regards, Bettina

I remember looking at Animal Kingdom when (west point if remember correctly) was offering shares in him as a yearling and wishing I had the money to buy some. Think they knew from an early age he had potential to be special. Havent seen his dosage but with a german mare I would imagine he could run a marathon. I married a German blooded lass, she cant run a lick, has a nasty tempermant, but is a hardworker and very loyal

Bet your German lass can cook a mean strudel. That makes up for a fair amount of nasty temperament.

The King of Animals

Literally translated, yes. The idiom is better translated as The King of Beasts.

If this horse remains in Florida I'll eat my hat. I think he's something special.

The only one in the world that dreads that sire line is Louis.

Yes--by my count, Animal Kingdom's 15th dam is Phalaris's 5th dam. I love it, I really do. 8) 8) 8)

Surely this must make Animal Kingdom a Colt of Doom.

Fortunately I am now able to be on this forum again, could't for two days. Because we got home on saturday evening very late, we saw the Kentucky Derby live.
This couldn't have been a better winner, I thought he would never make it, but what speed in the end!
The pedigree is amazing and as a future stallion for American bred mares very interesting.
Animal Kingdom's dam Dalicia won over € 100.000 and had a GAG of 92. She proved to have enough stamina, ran over 2000 - 2200 m. No worries for this guy for not getting further distances!

I hope Bettina and Parlo will also react.

Leroy will probably stay in FL.. Stonewall moved all of their stallions there, but maybe they are willing to sell to the right party, if the bank doesn't own part of him. I'm not thinking M D'Oro $$$ but still up there for such a young sire.

I think "Leroy" will be back in KY for 2012. Hard to believe that people as intentionally deceptive, fraudulent etc would have the good fortune to have both Medaglia d'Oro & Leroidesanimoux - of course the bank received most if not all of the Medaglia money. The KY farm was foreclosed upon, the other horses dispersed with proceeds going to the banks - gotta think that the banks will receive most if not all of whatever Leroy sells for....

Still not sure how they managed to buy a farm in FL with so many people after them - of course they have been experts in running everything through shell companies & various legal entities - I heard the FL farm is in the son's name.
A difference of opinion is what makes horse racing and missionaries.
