Thanks a million Brigadier for the link to a lovely video ,the Brits really get it right at the races and their coverage satisfies both bettors and thoroughbred fans to get to the heart of the game. I am sure that Frankel was not named until Henry Cecil knew that he was a quality horse. He has thickened out over the winter break and still runs like a little boy let loose , he can only improve and I for one look forward to this summer's classics with baited breath.

It appears that Henry Cecil has this year's English Derby in his pocket. If Frankel doesn't take it then this fellow looks like he can. Breaks his maiden first-time out at 11-furlongs. What a trainer! I expect the Japanese are toasting their astute purchase of Empire Maker with some prized Tokutei meishō-shu.

I always thought em was a misused stallion here. the sooner everyone would have accecpted he was a turf sire and bred him like one the better everyone would have been.

Thanks so much for the link TJ, what a staggering performance,unlike any 2000 Guineas that I have seen. Actually having watched his other races on video I was always worried about how he would settle in a large field going a mile but I guess that problem was solved very quickly as his cruising speed is so high that he has no choice but to lead them. Now then will he stay a mile and a half?? That's the next problem for Henry Cecil who I am sure got a rousing ovation as he led his Champion back in to be unsaddled.
