Here are the top 14 at this time for the Preakness. the entry rules are not the same in this race as in the Derby.....The Preakness field will be limited to fourteen (14) entries the starters will be determined at the Closing with the first seven (7) horses given preference by accumulating the highest lifetime earnings in Graded Stakes. The next four (4) starters will be determined by accumulating the highest lifetime earnings in all "non-restricted" stakes, which means those stakes whose conditions contain no restrictions other than that of age or sex. The remaining three (3) starters shall be determined by accumulating the highest lifetime earnings in all races. Although, no horse which earns money in The Kentucky Derby shall be denied the opportunity to enter and start in The Preakness Stakes. If this results in an entry being denied due to a Derby horse taking the spot, the 10,000 entry fee and any supplemental fee's will be returned. TJ

There will been some changes to the Preakness top 14...Santiva is no longer under consideration and Concealed Identity is considering not running if it is a full field. Nehro is also on the fence awaiting a final work before making a decision.....his stablemate, Astrology will run. Isn't he Perfect has decided to run and Santiva's defection's found room for Sway Away to now run in the Preakness. Ruler on Ice is also unsure about running and Saratoga Red will need at least one more defection to be able to get a slot in the starting gate.
Nick Zito took an interest in trainer Chris Grove and his son Noah. Here's a nice story about it......TJ

Nehro looking to make his 4th start in 8 weeks....(if he goes in the Preakness) his work this AM at CD has Zayat thinking seriously about running? Seems like he's a bit of an iron horse as Curlin was. TJ

Hi Zinn,
Yes, Sway Away is a definite starter after Santiva got out....No, that wasn't me.... All my time was spent up and down the east coast:>) TJ
