Hi fellow forumer's...
I have been looking for YEARS for any photos of my all time fav. horse, Ruffian, as a foal or yearling.
There is a collage of her, I saw it on the TVG website and also if you Google Ruffian, far down the collage comes up, and it looks like on the left hand side in the middle there is a photo of her as maybe a yearling?
I honestly don't know how to enlarge something like that, I'm not that computer savvy. There have got to be other photos of her as a youngster out there somewhere...
Does anyone have any that you can share? I would sure appreciate it.
Thanks

We will NEVER see another Ruffian......
I got on bing.com & looked around. I didn't find anything definitive.
I found this website with some pictures that aren't labeled. Some of these pics were definitely taken in her late yearling/early 2 YO stage. She was quite the chubster
The site also has a page full of pictures right after she was pulled up after the match race, and before she was loaded into the ambulance. It has a disclaimer when you click the link because the pictures are pretty rough.

I assume that as a big fan, you probably have most of the books about Ruffian. I have "Ruffian: Burning from the Start" by Schwartz, "The Licorice Daughter" by Lifshin, "Ruffian: Thoroughbred Legends 13" by Toby, and "Ruffian: A Racetrack Romance" by Nack, so I'll look in all those if by chance you don't have them.
There was a 1970's coffee-table book called "Ruffian: Queen of the Fillies" by Edward Claflin. I don't have that one, but those kinds of books are usually loaded with photos. It's pretty obscure; I haven't seen it in years. If you haven't got that one, it might have what you are looking for.

Thank you all for the info. I do have all the books ever written on her, the limited edition magazines, etc. and not a single one of them have photos of her as a foal/yearling. I wonder why that is?
I tried to get the collage that is on Google images of her as that is the only one thing I've seen that has a small photo of a young perhaps yearling aged Ruffian, but I could not get my darned computer to get it so I could put it on here for you all to see.
I'm glad to see this new website on her, it is done very nicely, there are no wacko messages on there like there unfortunately are on Zenyatta's website.
Kari, I love your avatar pic, where did you get that? I remember that race too!! Talk about a come from behind win!

The largest image of that collage I've seen is here

It's still difficult to enlarge that one small photo within the collage without significant loss of resolution. (There's software that would compensate for that but I don't have it.) That photo and the one beneath it I think were taken at Claiborne, but they're so fuzzy when enlarged that it's hard to tell. You could contact the farm, or the sporthorse-data team and see if one of them could provide you with a decent scan of that particular photo.
