QE2 -- British Champions Cup Day

Postby wangkw » Fri Oct 14, 2011 5:23 pm

As expected the undefeated Galileo's 3-yo colt, Frankel, becomes the ante-post favorite to win this race. On top of his 8 for 8 eye-catching
credentials (4 G1, 1G2, 1G3 & 2 listed), the 8f journey aussi seems to fit his appetite best. But the booth is paying 4 for 11 on him at best...
kind of a "disappointment" for many grandstanders out there I guess.

Frankie is in the irons for Poet's Voice..paying 40..people will be equally put off too ..but I think it is not silly to throw a few pounds on
him this time round...the Dubawi's 4 yo colt won this race last year, albeit by a nose. He lost in the most recent G2 8f Nayef Joel to Ramson
Note and Premio Loco (by 3&1/2 lengths).

Excelebration won the G1 8f Prix Du Moulin, beating the respected Rio De La Prata by 1&1/2 lengths. He had also got the "unfancied"
G2 8f German Guineas in his bag back in May by a mind-boggling 7 lengths.

Immortal Verse beat Goldikova (1length) in the G1 8f Prix Jacques Le Marois, after winning 2 other events for fillies and mares.

One month ago in the Prix Du Moulin, Dubawi Gold was beaten by Excelebration to a 3 lengths 3rd, the 2nd defeat in a row to him this
year. This fellow romped home in the G2 Celebration Mile victor recently.

Bullet Train never lived up to his name...returning at near the tail end in all his last 4 starts in 2011. He pays 200.

Dick Turpin won 3 8f events this year...including the G1 Premio Vittorio Di Capua by a short head. He was 4&1/2 lengths 7th behind
Immotal Verse in the Jacques Le Marois. He pays 28. Value.

Frankel destroyed the very good Excelebration in the spring and has improved all year, what a great day of racing.

Great performance by the champion,it's a shame about Excelebration as he would be a monster in any other year. I thought that greed has ruined So You Think's year,he should have missed the Arc and concentrated on this race. Coolmore have many wonderful horses that they ruin in the pursuit of another Sadler's Wells.
