Postby starlitlaughter » Mon Oct 24, 2011 5:49 am

Saw this interesting colt on Three Chimney's Facebook album for their Fasig Tipton October yearling consignment.

He is hip #139, by Leroidesanimaux - Humoristic, by Sefapiano.

I've disagreed with forum members before about loud & irregular markings being Fugly..is anyone gonna tell me they think THAT head is beautiful?

I wish his eye was bigger and the structure of his head a little more refined, but otherwise, yes, it IS beautiful.

You are entitled to your love of bling!
but for me . . .blegh. Give me a nice somewhat even blaze or stripe or give me no facial markings at all!

His head is too short for me. I wish it was longer, and his muzzle maybe a bit bigger. Otherwise love it.

LEROIDESANIMAUX (Chestnut H 2000)
http://www.pedigreequery.com/leroidesanimaux
Note that his second broodmare sire High Line (Chestnut H 1966) was a son of
High Hat (Chestnut H 1957), a son of Hyperion who sported very high leg markings with a bold blaze.

As per HUMORISTIC (Bay M 2001) http://www.pedigreequery.com/humoristic
Note that there are two doses of Northern Dancer, along with an interestring dose from the Nantallah.

Well, if there is a comma missing, it is Hyperion, if not, it is High Hat.

Hyperion doesn't have a blaze and I can't find a photo of High Hat so that's why I was wondering.

Phenotypically speaking, HIGH HAT was a bold blazed very flamboyant in general son of Hyperion. He underscored Hyperion's sabino-ness.

Hyperion was a conservatively marked sabino but reiteratedly I have learned to regard him as the "one-man-gang" of coat color oddities.

There is a photo of HIGH HAT in the photographic section just before page 177 of the book "Makers of the Modern Thoroughbred" by Peter Willett. I have also seen additional photos of his blaze elsewhere.
