14-Year-Old Wins Again In 176th Start

Postby Patuxet » Tue Dec 13, 2011 12:54 pm

This was posted on another site.

"The Tatling (Perugino-Aunty Eileen by Ahonoora) just won another flat race(on all weather) at the age of 14. Second win this year. He's now 176-18-28-15"

"It is supposedly his last race and he got up in the last strides to win by a head. I say supposedly because they have tried to retire him before (and just isn't happy unless he's racing!"

Thanks, I think that TBRED TIMES had an article about the same story a few days ago. I have a wonderful retired horse in my back 40 who is 26 and enjoyed his 33rd win at age 14 at start number 170, he was an iron horse for me named Classic Jewel. The incredible story that you have highlighted is the fact that the horse in question "The Tatling" was a sprinter of the highest calibre in England and even ran with great distinction in the 5 furlong "Prix de L"Abbaye" on "Arc" Day in Paris , apparently running 2nd twice I believe. Lovely horse indeed, would that there were more like him. Great pedigree that I love so much with Danzig and Ahonoora close up.
