TAPIT X EXCHANGE RATE or viceversa

Postby Jorge » Wed Jan 11, 2012 10:02 am

It is quite rare we haven’t seen any cross between TAPIT and a daughter of EXCHANGE RATE or viceversa. I am under the impression this can result into a powerful breeding.
Would like to read your comments on this combination, yet to be made.

definitely will be a gray foal. I like the cross personally. Bringing Mr P in through 2 sons a daughter with heavy ND influence. Splash in a little Seattle Slew. I think youll see Tapit over Exchange Rate first.

Would not definitely be grey. Neither stallion is homozygous grey.

Very very very few thoroughbreds are homozygous grey. Last one I can think of is Al Hattab.

Albeit both sires are of grey coat color, I would like to focus on
the racing merits of such a cross or nick. Seems like the progeny of both horses are quickly blossoming into tough successful runners and I am wondering if this may become a good combination regardless of the doses of Mr Prospector.

Who was the stallion that perished in a stud barn fire in Florida a few years back...relatively young, promising grey that I think was showing to be homozygous?

Oh I forgot about him, poor Darn That Alarm. Hatchet Man? No. In order to be homozygous the sire and dam both have to be grey and even then its likely they won't be.
