I would like to suggest race callers to find a word or phrase that imitates the sound made by the ring and starting gate when the doors are opened for the horses to go. I have seen this in another language and perhaps it may do the trick in English. But haven't seen this done in English. Just a suggestion.

He will have some pretty big shoes to fill but I am anxious to hear his
call at Oaklawn. I have been going for 30+ years and will surely miss
Terry Wallace's call of the races. There used to be a horse named
Quackquackquack that Terry always had a lot of fun with when it was running.

Unkind, but irregardless, he is as much a fixture as the corn beef sandwich and bread pudding. He will be missed but Frank M is a great race caller and will carry on the tradition of OP.

Have always enjoyed Frank M - wish him the best at Oaklawn.

Oh, and glad to be able to watch Oaklawn on TVG!

I liked TW, ever since the day I first went to Oaklawn in 85. Frank will be an change, but he's good, accurate and entertaining for sure. Have fun in Arkansas this spring///
