Blues And Royals won't be coming (respiratory infection), so I am adding Afleet Alex to replace him in my top five.

1. Afleet Alex (Fantastic horse, I still believed even after the Rebel - and how can you not like his connections after reading this:

http://www.afleetalex.com/beginnings.html

especially the last paragraph?)

2. Wilko (I really think this little horse is going to surprise everyone!)

3. Bellamy Road (No explanation needed)!

4. Bandini (First caught my eye in the Fountain of Youth and getting better all the time)

5. Flower Alley (Still game and seems to be keeping good company with the superstars in his last few races)

I remain bummed about Declan's Moon. I think he'd be right up there if he hadn't gotten hurt. Ah well...wouldn't it be nice if this whole group was still sound and impressing us a year from now (Declan included)?

I'm sorry...these horses are all becoming a blur.

Does GG = Galloping Grocer or Greeley's Galaxy?

Thanks!

Greater Good.

But they're all a blur to me, too.

Anyone have a pic of Sun King? I'm going to look around.

::: smacks forehead :::

How could I have forgotten Greater Good! We sure have a lot of GGs contending this year.

I'm envisioning a "dream" stretch run with Afleet Alex and Bellamy Road hooking up and battling it out in the stretch run...

Rockport Harbor right on their heels...

But wait, here comes High Fly, flying down the middle of the track...

Who do I see winning? Well, I don't want to jinx my favorite by being overconfident, but I think by now everyone knows who I'm rooting for to take home the roses. :D :D :D

Whatever the outcome, this is stacking up to be one to remember!

:lol: Indeed... forgetting Greater Good... I, for one, will be at the Derby cheering for all of the horses. We are having a backside party at Barn 15... Someday I hope to take home the roses. Or even just some of them (partnership horses).

I always cheer for the underdogs and LOVE it when a "cheap" stud's offspring takes on the big dogs and wins....

What I bet on may be a different matter :wink:

Madelyn, I originally had planned to make the Derby this year because the Blue Devils had been invited to participate in some of the festivities...but unfortunately, they had to cancel due to scheduling conflicts.

Maybe next year. :::crossing fingers:::
