To be fair, Brogers was not the poster who originally "outed" Barcaldine on the forum. And also to be fair, Barcaldine has been chasing Brogers through several threads and generally behaving like a classic internet troll, slinging snide comments for no apparent purpose other than to be irritating. Two wrongs don't make a right, but I've been impressed with the restraint Brogers has exhibited thus far.
Maybe my memory is faulty, but I thought CA Michael (who is supposedly the same person as Barcaldine?) was banned from the forum in 2007?

I don't see that posting information on the stallion that Barky was publically posting for sale is personal information. The information is about a horse for sale, not about a person. For years, members have commented negatively and postively on buying and selling topics and posts. I call that helpful in more ways than one. To suggest that anyone withhold information that would be useful for other members and guests on a public forum is absurb. As I also recall Michael was banned from the board. Why should Barky expect everyone else to play by the rules, when he apparently can't.
Considering all the supurb progeny of AP INDY, to call this colt a deal even at $500 is a stretch. If I were the owners, I'd demand 90% of their money back and put some the return toward a new conformation photograph. I've seen some better looking plow horses that the owners would gladly breed for free.
Sorry, I couldn't find any uninteresting links for CT2346 to leave unread on this subject, but watching "Luck" on HBO, makes my point.
Byron-
I would suggest you look at the rules of the forum - something about not posting personal information about another poster unless so permissioned.

I guess I would view that outing the name of the individual behind a private sale represents posting personal information. I had no idea that the Michael mentioned was the individual behind the moniker or behind the private purchase. Brogers took care of that though.
Interestingly, in a fit of pique he also outed the seller (A Sanan) and the price. I would actually have issues with those folks revealing my purchase price to a third party who then pettily blabs it out on a forum.
Not a supurb(sic) reflection on the True Nicks brand.
As for your plowhorse comments, if others decided to take that kind of shot at all of the stallions pushed on this forum, some by moderators, this would devolve into a pretty nasty place. Call that absurb (sic) if you want but it might be better just to stick to posting links.

All arguments and finger pointing aside, if Kennedy is going to have a shot prompting that he is a $1million plus yearling buyback (who was pushing him to that price) is deceiving and has really nothing to do with his credentials as a sire. Probably would have been better if he never ran.
Is it a stallions pedigree, yes. Conformation- agree, you cannot tell much from the picture, race record- no.
If there are mares that fit the horse, and the farm is confident the resulting foals from those owners can get them to the track, I would think the farm would make exceptional considerations. Trying to put a 3k stud fee on the back of breeders for this boy, at this stage, is not a good deal in my opinion. This is not Danzig were talking about.

is it "outing" an owner just because you didn't know the horse was for sale personally or just because he didn't advertise it on the PQ or the Equinenow banner above?
In some circles (such as the two parties speaking to each other here) it may have been very well known he was for sale. (Obviously since Barc bought him.)
Again, as I posted a couple pages ago.. It is important the horse got a good home. And I will also add that true value is in the eyes of the beholder and a horse is worth what some people are willing to pay.
Let's let the thread die here. ..

I get a warm and fuzzy feeling when you post in my direction.
If Barky was so intent upon keeping the particulars on the horse and his personal involvement with it a secret, he could have used a surogate or agent rather than posting to a public forum. He actually could have had another member post. Smart dealers do that. Barky has proven he has got a "smart" mouth, but that's about it. Outing or for that matter recognizing Barky was a no a brainer for many members of the board and to single out brogers is good use of scapegoating on yours and Barky's part. Barky had been identified on a number of other threads as I recall. As for Sanan, anyone could have tracked his connection with this horse down. As for you, "barking" up the wrong tree is par for the course.
As for the plow horse comment, it stands until I see another conformation picture that makes Kennedy look like an athletic stallion and not a horse overdue for his evening meal and plenty of hay. I've seen pictures of stallions owned by moderators on this board and they look like they are getting a minimum of three squares a day. Best wishes. Spammy
Crystal: What you say is perfectly correct, but sadly this discussion isn't really about the stallion Kennedy, it is about a member and some of his supporters who are taking to personal attacks on another member and looking for any reason to do it. Powers was a disruptive force in the earlier years of his membership and since returning nothing has changed other than the fact that he has added "bullying" to his bad conduct. When Barky starts to play nice, I'll be the first one to play nice with him.

I see no problem in "outing" preposterous claims by owners/agents/trainers/posters; in fact I look at them as public service announcements. The biggest black eye for the business are the liars and crooks that seem to stalk anyone with a dime that make the mistake to venture into the horse business, they have a target on their back for the leeches that feed off of the fortunes of the unsuspecting newbies. It is about time the common law of agency is applied to the horse business just like in any other business. The more agents that go to jail or are fined, for not honoring their fiduciary responsibility, the better off the business will be.

Since your comments appear under this specific thread I hope, casaalc, that you are not referring to me or to the buyer of Kennedy. I can assure you neither of us fits the mold you seem to be laying.
I happen to agree with you that unethical bloodstock agents should be held accountable. So should marketers of equine services which prey on "fortunes of the unsuspecting newbies", such as Nicksters.

Cute the way you slipped that into your response. Couldn't for the life of me find where Casallc mentioned anything about "nicking." You should be the last to speak to ethics and accountability on the basis of your recent conduct and bullying on this board. There appears, from remarks posted historically, to be a question about you in general. As I recall the saying goes that the dead limb doesn't fall far from the tree.
I think Casallc made some very valid points.

Oh, my! Did I hit a nerve? And what's this about all the money you make? Wow! I'm impressed. I heard you had credit problems in CA.
And you know, you are right. I do know mud. This winter in particular its been wet and muddy and I've had to keep two tractors going just to keep the place liveable but the horses appreciate it and so does the wife so I keep up with it.
And your comment about growing hay and not being able to think. You are right, I can hardly think when all that machinery is running. Which reminds me, I've got to get a new muffler for the Ford tractor or I won't be able to hear or think this spring. With all your money you must have someone cut the hay for you on your place in KY. How many acres in KY do you have? I'll bet your place is a palace. KY is lucky to have you considering the big time taxes you'll pay on real estate and at horse sales. I've never had alot of money, but I've been able to pay the bills and put the kids through school.
Spring is here and it won't be long before the hay needs to be cut. I'm buying more hay than I use to. It's important to have good hay as I'm sure a big time money making horseman like you knows. So I'll take your comment about me looking after the hay as positive encouragement.
One other thing. I can't be bullied, even by the likes of a big thinking, big mouthed, money making horseman like yourself. I've mucked too many stalls in my life not to recognize "manure" when I see it.
Your jealousy at my ability to make money in this business has clearly ruffled your inner inferiorities. You can't come up with facts to base your attacks so you swing away, hoping some of the mud you sling will stick.

I'm not. I am a retired farrier and farmer and have a few horses wondering around the place to keep my mind occupied and to keep me broke. I buy most of my hay, but I do cut some from our leased pastures but we have to pay someone to bale it.
Haven't got a clue where Barky got that information. Actually, the fellow I buy my hay from is the smart one. He overcharges me, telling me each time when I've got to write a check that its the best hay anywhere. He's not exactly honest. Actually the best hay comes from the mid-west and Canada but its a little pricey for me. I patronize him by telling him how great his "fescue mix" is and then I scare him by telling him I don't know whether I'll be able to afford his high prices in the coming months.
He normally comes up with a deal for me then.
The noise from the old tractors do keep me from thinking and hearing. So Barky wasn't far off on that.
Thanks for your kind thoughts.
