Bodemeister will not win another Triple Crown race if he runs in one, I don't think he will run though. I think he is too good of a horse to go to the Preakness so quick with nothing to win when there is no TC win at stake. He is not ready for a mile and a half and it would be dumb to train for that distance when there aren't enough races after the Belmont at that distance. I think Baffert is at least as smart as I am and will see that BM can be HOY picking his races and winning the Breeders Cup.

I doubt IHA will win another race in the TC series. I could be wrong but I don't think so. I'd bet there are three winners of the TC series this yea

I think the Preakness comment is an excellent assessment but believe if Bob skips the Preakness and goes in the Belmont he will win by many. The horse can probably canter the first three quarters in 13 and change and run the last three quarters in 1:14. I don't think any of the rest can run faster than 2:29 for the mile and a half..

I don't doubt that there is time to possibly get enough leg under BM for the Belmont but I don't think it is a wise choice looking down the road at what will increase the value of the horse and in his best interest. The Preakness is made for him but after taxing him in the AK Derby then the KY Derby 3 weeks later, it is just too soon. Looking at horses that won the Belmont as a sire over the last 30 years only A.P. Indy stands out. I know I would rather breed to a horse with speed that is consistent at between a mile and a mile and a quarter. A known router or a plodder wouldn't interest me as a sire. What if he didn't win the Belmont stakes? The road to obscurity would start there. I'd shoot for the Dwyer Stakes, win that, then stretch out over the summer building confidence and take on some older horses in prep for the Breeders Cup and Champion 3yo colt and possibly HOY.

Instead of ending the year with a worn out, tired, horse BM if in good shape from the derby, is still a fresh horse with lots of races left. Since he can't be a triple crown winner - manage him in another direction.

the rest of his year isn't going to be very taxing assuming he stays healthy you got what, the preakness, belmont, no need to prep in the jim dandy or the swaps, go to the travers, goodwood, breeders cup

that's 5 races left in what right at 5 months.

Bodimeister can give anyone, anywhere a run for his money at a classic distance. IMHO the biggest thing keeping I'll Have Another from the T crown is his jockey. How many jocks have lost the TC by pulliing the trigger at Belmont too soon?

Run the race - the one that's really worth winning.

and you know it's going to happen it has to happen. every jockey that does not ride the track makes the exact same mistake. the EXACT same mistake.

that's why I have always stated that if a horse wins the TC it will be an east coast horse/ jockey. the jockey has to be familiar with Belmont. that's why i really thought big brown was a cinch to win the TC
