Santa Anita.. get rid of the blue turf.

Postby bdw0617 » Fri Nov 02, 2012 4:52 pm

if you want to be serious about getting and keeping a rotation in the breeders cup, let alone making it a permanent fixture, you have to get rid of the blue turf.

anyone who watches or follows college football, knows about Boise State's blue turf. the turf is blue lol

no one wants to play there. Boise state can't ever get a good team to do a home and home with them beucase no one wants to play on that blue turf. Boise state's jersey's are blue and it makes it all hell to see. it's a stupidly large home field advantage.

this is the problem that santa anita is about to have. I mean, from a handicapping standpoint, i learned my lesson in 08 and i saw this coming so i sat on my hands, and i didn't' get killed. i will make a few wagers tomorrow of horses that i know will take to the track because they have, but everyone else, is basically running on an entirely new surface.

this crap is literally pavement. there is no other track in the country this bias as this track is.

there is nothing we can do about tomorrow but watch, wagering will be down. and next year if it's not fixed, you won't get half the field you got this year, it's gonna look a lot like the 08 classic field w/o zenytta of course. no one wants to waste their time running on this crap, no one wants to waste their time handicapping this unhandicappable crap.

i mean, from an everyday standpoint it's not that big of a deal because of the circuit.. you know who likes it and who doesn't but days like this, this isn't gonna work

I don't know why but I hate the blue turf as well. It gives me a headache watching games on that field.

this crap is impossible.

i mean, ti's not so much the track itself it's the new faces running on the stuff that makes it impossible. you are throwing darts at who will like it and who won't. a dirt track that is on a tier 1 circuit should not be THIS bad.

in every dirt breeders cup race with the exception of groupie doll who towered over her competition, no horse that won was never more than 2 lengths from the lead the entire race.

2 of the winners never were not in the lead

shanghi bobby ran the last 16th of mile and 6.75 seconds, and the furlong before that in almost 28 seconds. and still won. shit, won drawing away.

santa anita, i play it daily, i love the circuit but the dirt track is really pathetic to be a tier one track. unless you had zenyatta or you were a front runner yo never had a fighting chance. the quicker you realized that and saved your money the better off you were.

You mean the quarter before that. Not even a standarbred is that slow to run one furlong in 28.
