Pete, the numbers speak for themselves regardless of where they came from. He is 19 on the 2012 earnings list with over $6 million in earnings. That is not a failed stallion.

The issue is that there are other stallions out there that can make more stakes winners than Song can.

I can say that the group who purchased him did very careful selecting. You must realize that he comes to LA and is at the top by $3 million dollars over Closing Argument, the second place sire. Our state has always been the laughing stock of stallions it appears. No one takes many of us seriously. However, if you look at the kind of higher end stock we have been pushing out of the state and selling at the sales, there are many of us serious about this business. Every mare on my farm right now is in foal to a KY sire. Lucky me, I was able to breed them all out of state last year. (We can go out every other year.)

From what I hear, his foals are correct, sell and no doubt he will have a huge book of well bred mares this year to fill.

While I did choke when I realized he was by USong, I hear his foals are sound. USong, is another story, from what I hear.

Keeping him priced where he is keeps him affordable and after all, he is #1 as far as runners go by a few million.

Thanks

I've been noticing that Louisiana has really been trying, probably more than any other state, to enhance their horse racing programs. So maybe its going to turn out better for everyone that he is there now.

Let Em Shine, 3 yr old SAAP set some very fast fractions today at SA in his 2nd out might be one to watch.

It will be intersting to see if this horse holds up soundness wise after goign that fast in only his 2nd start.

Unbridled Songs i think you should stay away from. They dont hold up.

Is that the same with Songandaprayer foals? I guess time will tell.

The key is for 5,000. When he was at 35,000, he was absurdly overpriced. With an AEI of 1.26, he is what he is. He is where he should be right now, in a state program. He should do well down there. You can get some brilliant fast sprinters by him.

Lets see when his next work and race will be. I cant see any horse holding up that long after going that fast.

Anyone know what kind of Beyer figure he got for that race?
