Looking for mating advise. I bought a stud to breed to. What mares would go well with Certain by Out of Place.

Proven mares, with fast progeny.

He is a bit old to try and establish him as a commercial sire.

Have you enrolled him in a state breeding program?

Out of Place also has a very excellent pattern of success with Kris S-line mares. Look for anything by Kris S or one of his sons, or with Kris S up close in the pedigree.

Are there any other sire lines that would work well the Certain by Out of Place. What about Storm Cat sons daughters? What about Ribot sire line like stalwart daughters? I am looking at buying a few mares to match with my stallion. New to TB breeding really wanting to help him the best I can. I was going to buy stakes winning mares. What is the best way to go I want to race the offspring. Buy stakes winning mares or stakes producing mares which is better to buy?

The best answers you can get to help your stallion out the most will be the ones you find yourself. There are lots of tools available. Pay for the G1 Goldmine and research your stallion's bloodlines; look at Out of Place's offspring for clues and also look for inside out matings. At his age, he has no chance to become commercial, so perhaps your best bet will be to raise foals that you would believe in enough to race yourself.

Did Certain produced any foals?Any of them superior racehorses or at least good runners? People like to fish where fish was caught before.

No he did not. His orginal owner died during his racing carrier. Then the children could not come to an agreement over the horse. Judge ordered him to be auctioned off. TX man bought him and did nothing with him except a yard orniment. He bred him to give aways mares after poor racing carriers on the track. He has never been given a chance. So I bought and and brought him back to Arkansas where he had his biggest win. There are NO Arkansas Derby winners standing stud in Arkansas. I thought I would buy stakes winning mares and bred to him. He puts long legs and huge hips on his foals. I am very pleased by what I have seen so far. Certain is 16.3 hands hugh horse. Here is a link to see the horse in his stall.
