Good Grief Ken Ramsey

Is his goal just to make the Derby with the horse? Shouldn't your goal be to win the Derby?

“Todd Pletcher might twist my arm and have us run back in the Derby Trial if we need a few more points to get in,” Ramsey said with a big laugh.

Ken Ramsey has never made and bones about the fact that he's getting up there in age and wants to win a derby before it's alls aid and done.

If that's what he wants to do he's earned that right IMHO

Hey, if the horse can run 3rd in a prep, then win another prep in 2 weeks, then win the big one a week later, I will bow down to the man.
But, quite honestly, this is Pletcher's 5th best chance to win the Derby?
Run the crap out of the horse, just to make the race, and then hope you win it because you are getting old...ok, hope the horse is a throwback to the old days.

Do you mean the old days as in 1973 when there were 13 starter's in Secretariat's Ky Derby?

Or maybe do you mean the old days as in 1977, when there were 15 starters in Seattle Slew's Ky Derby?

Or do you mean the old days as in 1978, when there were 11 starters in Affirmed's Ky Derby?

Hmmm...is it really that you hope the horse is a throwback; or is it maybe your heartfelt wish/dream :D (of sorts) that Churchill Downs and the Ky Derby were throwbacks to the old days, rather than be what they have become  ?

Best to ya.

THE DERBY should be restricted to 14 horses....1 starting gate.
