How can I find out how many mares he's bred and how many foals he has racing?

The Jockey Club will release the 2013 numbers in the next month or two.

You can always call the farm where he's standing and ask them, too.

As I recall, there was something strange about this horse. The horse belonged to Bear Stables and stood here in Ontario for a season or two. I believe he was sold at the CTHS mixed sale for very little money and then went through a KY sale and brought something like 250k... I don't know if his page got better overnight or what?

You could always try some of the Bear Stables connections, they can probably fill you in on where he went,

You are correct, Jane.

He sold for $11,000 at the CTHS Mixed Sale, then months later sold for $260,000 at the Keeneland Sale. He hadn't done anything spectacular in those months (he was already retired), and apparently his physical wasn't great.

There was definitely some head-scratching going on. People expected him to sell around $10-15,000.

Thanks for the link, will look into it.

Cree,

Don't know if you noticed they announced this horse will be standing at Colebrook Farm in Ontario for 2014.

His 2-year-old colt Asserting Bear just won the Coronation Futurity. Asserting Bear is a half brother to Canadian champion Inish Glora.
