Returning champs....and thoughts on the surface?

Mizdirection wow. She's like a little bit fast.

And Groupie Doll was a rocket. So much fun.

Some announcer said the dirt surface is playing more fair today...thoughts from some of you handicappers?

I don't think it's much more fair, I haven't really seen a deep closer do that well. The winners have been on or close to the pace. Probably more serious handicappers are factoring in a speed bias. Especially with the juvenile races I've been betting with the heart - sons of Tiznow, Birdstone, etc. Had Mizdirection across the board though so on the day I'm more or less breaking even.

I didn't post the horses I liked for today but this was who I picked and how they did:

Juv Fillies- Sweet Reason 4th and Untapable 8th
Filly & Mare Turf- Marketing Mix 5th
Filly & Mare Sprint- Judy the Beauty 2nd and Sweet Lulu 5th
Turf Sprint- Reneezgotzip 2nd
Juvenile- Baffert's other 2-year-old Tap It Rich 5th
Turf- Point of Entry 4th and The Fugue 2nd
Sprint- Justin Philip 5th
Mile- WISE DAN
Classic- Will Take Charge 2nd

So, I guess I did ok!

I had Indy Point to show, Renees Got Zip to show and Mizdirection across the board. I also hit the Dank exacta, and the Mucho Macho Man exacta. With all my losses - it pretty much ended up to be a break even day, which was fine by me, I enjoyed it.

And congratulations on your good picks Cree.

I have 2nd-itis.

I thought the races were fantastic. The Euros won all of the Turf races except the Mile. Our turf runners here don't know what to do with the Euro turn of foot.

A woman trainer winning the Classic, that's great.

Both Reneesgotzip and Mizdirection are freakish fast mares.

This has been a very odd year for 2-year-old. No real stand-out.

As Cree says, wide open 2 year old picture and probably good ones soon (hopefully) to emerge.

Huh?

Same old SA - just get the right frontrunner. Almost no deep closer did anything.

Run the race - the one that's really worth winning.
