What a day.

Braving the sheet ice roads, freezing rain, snowstorm, etc., I drove to the training center and took my horse to Turfway Pk for the 2nd race today. WHAT WAS UP with all those "Stewards" scratches????

We did not arrive on time but were not getting Lasix so we were okay (but two hours late) - on the other hand we arrived alive.
So Run for the Roses, as fast as you can.....

Steward scratches were probably shippers like you that either missed lasix or maybe couldn't get there at all.

Looks like one of the races scratched down to only 3 starters, I'd love to be in a 3 horse field one day.

It was hair raising. I called the stewards early, when the van had not yet arrived, and kept them up to date on our progress, so that we would not get scratched.

Very ironically, that three horse field should have been at least FOUR, but Luis Cotto sent the wrong horse to the paddock. I mean, he only HAD two, how hard is that??
