I love competition...it's creating a void, not enough horses. GP went to an open claiming rule this season, on the overnight:
ATTENTION HORSEMEN: OPEN CLAIMING FOR THE 2013-14 CHAMPIONSHIP MEET- ANY OWNER OR TRAINER WITH A CURRENT VALID FLORIDA STATE LICENSE AND THAT IS IN GOOD STANDING WITH THE ASSOCIATION (GP) IS ELIGIBLE TO CLAIM.
And this new rule at GP:
A TRAINER MAY CLAIM A MAXIMUM OF (2) TWO HORSES PER RACE, PROVIDED THE CLAIMS ARE FOR TWO DIFFERANT OWNERS AND TWO DIFFERANT HORSES.
Please note these people can't spell....DIFFERENT:>)
Head to head competition rules on GP overnight:
ATTENTION HORSEMEN IF YOU ARE STABLED AT GULFSTREAM AND PALM
MEADOWS, WE EXPECT YOU TO PARTICIPATE IN OUR RACING PROGRAM. IF YOU NEED TO SHIP TO CALDER OR TAMPA PLEASE CONTACT THE RACING SECRETARY OR ASSISTANT RACING SECRETARY BEFORE YOU ENTER. YOUR COOPERATION IS GREATLY APPRECIATED!
Head to head competition rules at Calder:
Please be advised, permission to race at Gulfstream Park needs to be determined by Mike Anifantis BEFORE the entry is made at Gulfstream Park, NOT AFTER THE ENTRY IS MADE. Thank you for your understanding in this matter.
My money's on GP whippin Calder in this fight:>) But I expect CD, Calder's parent company to fight back in adding additional Derby qualifying races at Calder to attract better 3YO's. TJ
