Gold Cup Invitational

Postby Bill from WA » Fri Jun 06, 2014 2:01 pm

Hi

There's an interesting race coming up at Belmont in a little more than an hour. The Gold Cup Invitational (race #10) has a nice field for this 16 furlong event. Bobby Flay's Montjeu filly, Auld Alliance, will be taking on the boys (except for the mare Irish Mission), and would have to beat Twilight Eclipse to win this thing. I don't know about her talent level, but she has by far the best distance pedigree of the bunch.
Going to be an entertaining race at an unusual (for the USA) distance.

Charming Kitten took it over long-winded Irish Mission (love that filly!).
