Any critique on these thrown together matings, lol.

Well, it is truly the 11th hour . I had an extremely difficult time all this spring and couldn't decidie what to do due to lack of immediate funds, but at the same time, I refused to throw my girls to the wind, lol. So now I am down to an unraced stallion by EXPLOIT rather than leaving them open or selling them for way under their true value. I have looked at hundreds of mares offered for sale, and the majority of them in the price range I believe these mares should sell, both stick out like a sore thumb. Of course, if buyers don't look past the first generation or are only in love with the present hot but unproven stallions, or think because one stallion decides everything, then I'm not surprised at what's going on in the breeding sector these days.

Take a look at some of the stats below and don't be afraid to offer constructive criticism.
The last mare which is home bred/raised is just thrown on here for comparison. I don't think I will breed her back this year as she had four lovely babies in a row, even though they are sportshorse babies. This year's baby is a whopper, and I can't help but thinking that Secretariat had something to say in this mating.

Thanks in advance.

Dr. Ruggles stands his first season at the Mississippi State University, so atleast it's a good place to get your mares in foal, lol. He was injured in training and Dr. Ruggles in Ky performed the knee operation on him, then he was donated to MSU, and they named the colt after the surgeon.
He's supposed to be correct and stand about 16 hands and is black.
Unfortunately, he will not be promoted if he continues to stand there, and the clinic, being an institution, is not very cooperative with giving me a better break. I would think that such a stallion shouldn't stand for more than $500 at the most, but they are asking $750 + all other expenses when you bring the mare[s] there. Not so good for my program, lol, but what the heck. I'm sure Captive Pro's 05 whapper baby will pay for some of it when she will be sold.

I fortot to mention - for whatever it is worth- that my two homebred TB mares, Hope to Glory and full sister Harriette K, my monster mare, have
16 crosses to St. Simon, but that apparently gets lost somehow when mating to a stallion of different lines. Haven't quite figured that out yet, lol. Perhaps some can clue me in? Thanks.

If you notice the St Simon crosses in your girls, fifteen of the sixteen are at the ninth generation. Since the linebreeding only counts those at ninth or closer, all of these drop out when her foal hypo is checked; the dam's St. Simon becomes the foal's tenth generation ancestor.

I sent you a private message about your first mare. I haven't studied the other two.

If you were near Oklahoma
For your mare Hope to Glory, I would consider Harriman as he also carries a large amount of St Simon. Also he has a large amount of Plucky Liege. It also gives you in breeding to Somethingroyal thru Sir Gaylord and Secretariat.

We had one of Harriman's better runners in Carter's Boy. He was an excellent hard trying colt who unfortunately had some issues due to a injury as a yearling. I would highy reccomend him to regional breeders. He is a value! Might be worth the shipping.
