"Besting Arch"?

I'd use my falling on the floor laughing my ass off emoticon if I could get it to work here.

Please don't tell me you are falling for Claiborne's PR machine?

Hate to break it to you, but Arch is NOT the best of the Kris S.es out there, he just the one with the best PR. You do realize he's yet to sire a milliionaire, or even a horse who's topped $750,000. Heck, he's only got ONE horse who's topped $300,000.

The ONLY thing Arch has going for him is that he gets more stakes winners (and then only marginally) than the other Kris S.es out there. If you breakdown his actual production numbers, he's middle of the road at best.

As for all of those brilliant Storm Cat mares ... how many of them are also OUT of Prospector or sons of Prospector mares? You're going to find a fair number of 3x2, 3x3 and 3x4 Prospectors in RHT's foal crop. Bank on it.

It'll help him to a degree because it'll give him the edge in precosity that the other Kris S.es don't have. Most of them don't get early winners. RHT could (with the right mares) get more than his share of 2yo starters/winners.

Personally, I'd love to see what he can do with a few Copelan mares.

Especially given that Rock Hard Ten's dam was a Grade One winning sprinting two year old (turf no less!).
