ROMAN RULER RECORDS A SWIFT WORK

Postby louis finochio » Tue Jun 21, 2005 3:24 pm

Roman Ruler worked 6 fur. in 1:10.1 monday wearing a bar shoe. Bob Baffert said he may run RR in the July 4 Dwyer stakes GR 2.

Louis, I saw he had a recent bullet work (may have been the same one). Curious to see how he'll do when he runs again. More maturity may be a big plus for him.

Bob Bafert has taken his time with RR. First he had a testicle that didnt drop down and they operated on the testicle so it didnt bother RR when he was running. Then he developed a quarter crack, and instead of running RR in the TC series Baffert tok his time and let the quarter crack grow out.

Now RR is back to normal and with his fast 6 fur. work he is ready to roll sevens again. Will the real RR surface in the Dwyer, we will soon find out.

I think the Kings Bishop is a more likely start than the Dwyer for Roman Ruler. It will be very interesting to see him again in the afternoon!

Roman Ruler was entered and later scratched for Thursday at Belmont. He may go in the Dwyer after all, although the availability of a top rider is uncertain.

Nice win by Roman Ruler today in the G2 Dwyer at Belmont, over Flower Alley and Proud Accolade. Looks like RR may be back on track?
