The weirdest thing about the study, to me, was that nearly 20% of women wear bras 24 hours a day.

Just catching up on some back threads...

Inyureye,

I was actually stating that I generally disagreed with the "theory" about bras (tight or otherwise) and cancer.

That's the problem with email and BB's...sometimes humor and sarcasm is way lost in the expression of it in writing/typing. :?

I actually agree with everything that everyone has said and for the record I am a " fried-egg" fan myself. This preference comes from the fact that my first ever large size girlfriend lay on her back and her face disappeared , pity as she was quite cute until then. O.K. Now then, how is that new track coming along in Hobbs and are they going to build one in Tucumcari???

BJ, ya won't get me to back down - as I said, the U.S. medical community won't accept it unless their guys have thought of it, funded it and approved of it... and it won't happen - no $, too controversial. I can fully understand that some people prefer to rely on the establishment to validate a theory - as for me, if it makes sense I'd rather know before it becomes "official" - which as we know from racing, is often sometime after most everybody knows anyway. And as a former biology teacher and a current attorney, I wouldn't take a case based on the theory even if a causal connection were found. Think how many cigarette cases failed, long after the link between cigarettes and lung cancer was established.
Let's go back to yakking about reserves and buybacks at auctions, LOL.

Hurleynyc,

As an attorney, how do you feel about the Federal & State governments passing laws banning smoking and allowing smokers to sue the tobacco companies, and taxing the crap out of smokers, WHILE all along the U.S. Government knew cigarette smoking was addictive, dangerous, and was the keeper of the agreement to allow tobacco companies to keep the "ingredients" in cigarettes/filters SECRET? Talk about a great case for Bivens and FTCA. What say you???

I'm no expert on the history of tobacco litigation. However, I think it's generally better for governments to correct a mistake, than to stay consistent in doing wrong, don't you? I do remember that executives from various tobacco companies lied under oath about the results of studies they'd sponsored and knew about, but suppressed the info ... saw them lie in hearings, etc. on television. So yeah, I do think it's OK to sue the cigarette companies - in fact I think it's a GOOD THING. I think smoking stinks and kills.

good nite! You guys, carry on - I give up!

So you think taxing the addicted smokers (victims of government complicity) is the government "correcting a mistake" against those victims?

I'd never call a smoker a victim.

It doesn't have to be "tight" to cause an impairment in lymphatic flow, only snug. Ask a massage therapist how much pressure it takes to move lymph - it is very sligh. Anything putting pressure on the skin - be it a bra, or jeans, or socks - will impede lymphatic flow.

BJ, you don't want big ones. They are a nuisance. Smaller is better, in this case. They work just the same.

Thanks Warhorse... that was a key point that I apparently didn't communicate effectively. Ultimately, we all have to make decisions we feel comfortable with, and that's OK.
