FUSACHI SAMAURI RETURNS

Postby louis finochio » Fri Aug 05, 2005 4:19 pm

FS that finished last as the favorite in his last race has returned from the ranch and is now walking and galloping at Santa Anita.

FS will be saved for the Santa Anita 05-06 winter meet as Neil Drysdale will train FS for the Strub Series.

hi louis finochio

Fair enough...but what was the explanation or excuse (or whatever they want to call it) for that MISERABLE performance?

I would have expected that Drysdale would never have started Fusaichi Samurai if he felt there was even the slightest chance he would not perform well. What a HORRIBLE outing...OUCH.

Thanks louis.

The owner of FS wanted Neil Dry. to run even thou FS was sore, as Neil didnt want to run.

This is an example of what can happen to a TB when the owners have their way and the TB pay the price.

hi louis finochio

It surprises me that Fusao Sekiguchi (owner of Fusaichi Samurai) would have insisted that his multi-million dollar purchase race, if his trainer (Drysdale) did not recommend it...hmmm. Regardless...I expect that even Drysdale could not have anticipated such an abysmal performance.

FS must have been EXTREMELY sore (if in fact that was the case) to turn in such a STINKER of a performance. If he were so sore I would have expected the rider would have felt something was not right...particularly when warming the colt up.

As I recall the rider was urging FS on, even down the stretch...hmmm.

How do you read it all?

I spoke to Victor Espinosa after the race and he said FS was not right and he just turned in a bad performance.

I like to talk to the grooms because they are the mother of the TB and they know their TB like the back of their hands.

What they print in the papers and what the grooms tell me are the difference between night and day.
