KITTENS JOY NEWS
If Kittens Joy comes out of the Arlington Mil ok, his owners want to run him in the Arc in October.

Old news
That's been on their schedule since January (Do a search on Bloodhorse for the story)
They were also toying with the idea of skipping the Breeders Cup and going to Australia for the Melbourne Cup instead

hi louis
I agree that the Arc would be a HUGE feather in Kitten's Joy's cap...but since his connections have yet to win a Breeders' Cup race with him (remember he finished 2nd last year...although arguably he was the best horse in the race)...I would not be surprised if ultimately the Breeders' Cup becomes THE priority.
As you know...dreaming is wonderful...but I suggest that no one can say with certainty (even Kitten's Joy's connections) where (or if) he'll race for sure. So many things can (and often do) happen day-to-day that might affect (for better or for worse) the plans...hopes and dreams. Afleet Alex certainly is a perfect example of plans having to be scrapped.
Like Afleet Alex...Kitten's Joy's a VERY good one (maybe he'll prove to be a great one)...certainly I'll find it interesting to see how his career unfolds. For right now though...it's all about the Arlington Million.
If everything unfolds perfectly (and it's probably fair to say that's rare in the world of thoroughbreds)...
I'd like to see on Kitten's Joy's calendar...
1/ The Arlington Million
2/ maybe a prep in NY (of the G1 variety) for the Arc
3/ The Arc
4/ Breeders' Cup Turf (If KJ comes out of the Arc in perfect order)
5/ then maybe the Japan Cup Turf to cap off the year...
...impossible NO...but arguably everything must unfold perfectly. The traveling alone might take a significant toll on KJ if this grueling schedule is to be attempted.
Personally...I'd love to see Kitten's Joy run in the Arc...what a rare occurrence for an American runner to make the trip and take on the challenge at Longchamps, Paris...WOW.
And WOW again...what a campaign...is KJ up to it...are his connections willing to place such pressure on their turf-star...is it really possible? Only time will tell.
Respectfully

A number of europe racers having trying this gooiing to the arc, than
the breeders cup turf, and the japan cup
Two out of three, is mostly more than enough for an equine ahtlete, if the horse is gooiing to stand at stud, pick up two and take the third for the fun
but don,t think about it as a real challenge
Montjeu was in at all three and it showed to be disapointing

THE EYES OF A CHAMPION
When you observe AA eyes and his expressions of emotions as things unfold around him. You soon realize his eyes are the window to his soul and the camera to his intelligent brain.
This is what all class TB have when to take the time to observe them and their expressions of their eyes.
Fix these characteristics in you memory bank and when you go to the sales look for TB thaat have these same traits and you will purchase a class TB.
Over the years I have observed many class TB that were champions or close to it and they have all had these same class expressions of their eyes.
