New Farm in New Mexico

Postby rds » Mon Sep 12, 2005 7:03 pm

As our first public announcement - I thought I'd say it here.

Windsor Thoroughbreds in CA is moving to New Mexico, and will re-open as Windsor Farms! We will breed TB's and QH's for racing. The new location is in Lovington, about 20 minutes from the new track, Zia Park in Hobbs.

We will do breeding, layups, and turnouts. We will also be breaking and starting young horses.

The farm is about 285 acres.

We are looking for Stallions to stand for 2006. This is a great location to take advantage of the New Mexico breeders program, and also to attract mares from Texas and Oklahoma.

We expect to be open around Nov 1.

Feel free to contact for more information! :D

I know of a stakes winning stallion that is just retiring from the track at age 9. He has very european bloodlines but I was also told he was stoutly built so he may be good not only for TB's but for QH's as well. If you would like more info on him please PM or email me.

best of luck with your move to NM!

Thanks everyone for the kind welcome to our new home! Plus thanks to all who PM'd me about stallions. I have had some interesting contacts, and will be trying to get at least one Well Known stud, plus am open to opportunities with lessor known or young studs who match up well for NM.

Please no one take offense if I am un-responsive for the next couple of weeks. I'll be doing a couple round trips between CA an NM to move my horses, and won't have time for the computer except here and there...

I am looking forward to the tremendous opportunity for raising and racing horses in New Mexico. There are so many positive's that I can't begin to list them.

It will certainly be FUN. :D

Rich, allow me to welcome you and your new (re-located) farm to New Mexico. It is an enchanting land, with opportunity, if you present yourself and your operation professionally.

Through all the discussion and banner on various forums might I suggest you see about negotiating a deal to stand Claudius at your place. I know his connections have let out the word he is returning to Texas, but they might be presuaded differently under the 'right' conditions.

Anyway...best with your future in New Mexico!
