starquine auction

Postby secretariat » Sat Sep 24, 2005 6:34 pm

i was just perusing the stallion seasons which will be auctioned off on starquine, and there is a colt out of fusachi pegasus named officer. which the picture reminded me of gainesway stallion officer. it looks like the same horse, but not positive. according to pedigree site, there is a colt
by fusachi pegasus by same name. take a look and let me know what everyone thinks. i think it is a possible typo

Starquine has neglected to fix my stallion's listing.. his race record is quite messed up and my contact info is wrong... despite being notified last week. If they don't fix it soon I am going to pull the donation.

my e-mail address is wrong on both of my stallions and only one has a photo added... and of course the additional information that i wanted added wasn't added either... and i have talked to them and e-mailed twice...........
looks like they have quite a problem with the information.

also.. why doesnt it list the stallions produce record? Makes no sense to me!

I have 6 stallions listed....3 have my correct contact info the other 3 have me still in NC? None have had their pictures added or the additional information. It would be nice to see their progeny information but I guess that would be too much info for the potential bidders?

I guess Lynn Brown (or a close relative) is the info tech for Starquine

I finally got an email back and when I sent the info yet again it mostly made it to the listing. I was told they only have a two person office and they have been swamped.

I'm really surprised... you all have really nice stallions listed (and with gorgeous photos!), and there are some "commercially popular" stallions listed that I am surprised aren't way up there yet (considering some of the stud fees)...

But maybe it's like EBAY... the last hour, everyone will start going crazy with the bidding! :D It'll be interesting to watch...

I'm also surprised that there isn't a user interface, like every other listing website, so you can edit your own information... :?

The site has a spot for the Stallion Season Acution, which does not work either, and so the donated seasons are all in with the other listings. I'm ready to pull mine.

I havent sold a horse using Starquine in quite a while but I do remember that I was able to edit the information, I tried to do that with the stallions but I wasnt able to.

I have noticed that the stallions from NY/MI/IN/PA are really not getting any interest hopefully it will be a last minute rush afterall its for a super cause and my boys wont mind an extra girl stopping over.

At least they have my stallions in NY even though I am still listed in NC...

Starquine

I sent them the info on my stallion (Thisnearlywasmine) & some photos over the weekend, after talking to Lisa Sunday, via cell phone. Today, I called to ask why the stallion was not posted (on the Katrina stallion site) and I was told it was too late.

I can sort of understand, however for a business which sells bloodstock via the internet, I figured they could get a simple ad up on the site pretty quick. Perhaps they are overwhelmed, as stated. The fact that Lisa was able to get 100 stallion seasons donated for Katrina relief is awesome!

The fact that Lisa busted her ass to pull this off on such short notice and I open my B-H and they were wonderful enough to donate 2 full page ads for this sale only to have forgotten to even mention her efforts...HELL SHE CAME UP WITH THE IDEA! DUHHHHH! But I'm glad to see The B-H, Starquine, and all of the others sure stepped and took credit.

Its a shame...there are some very nice horse in this auction and there are soooo many people who could use the help. I just hope whats left of the sale will result in something positive for the hurricane victims.

I'm having difficulty registering to bid. It keeps telling me that I'm in the system but I'm not activated yet. Isn't this an automated function?
