Broodmare for sale - by Montbrook

Postby ks1313 » Tue Sep 27, 2005 3:53 pm

I have a proven broodmare that I need to sell. Here is her information:

Monty's Dancer: 16.2 hand proven broodmare, chestnut, big boned, pin-fired, calm, track-trained only. Sire is Montbrook who I believe still stands for stud today. Produces big healthy babies.

Monty's Dancer

Everything looks good, but what about the PRICE? I like the crimson satan on the distaff side...have a mare with the similar breeding on the female side. Is this mare spirited? Is she okay for breeding?

yes, breeding sound

She is fine for breeding. She is an easy-breeder, no problems getting pregnant or staying pregnant, stands well for vet without sedation or twitch. I have no idea what she is worth. How about ... $3500?

You've used an exact quote from a private email I sent to someone (I don't even know you) who knows little about TBs and asked me about that mare's pedigree/ monetary value. Since you've taken it upon yourself to use my remarks, without my permission, as the bulk of the advertisement for your horse, I'll provide the balance of the comments I made in private email about the mare:

Monty's Dancer's winning ($170K) half sister by Out of Place sold at OBS in Feb 2005 for $1,200. Monty's Dancer never won in 11 starts, and she has been further cheapened by being bred only to non-TB stallions multiple times. As a TB broodmare, Monty's Dancer is worth about $400 - $600.

I apologize if my ad offended you. I wasn't even aware that she had ever started.

ks1313 - Posters are extremely upfront on this forum. You need to 'fess up to Linda from Texas. I mean what are the odds of using Linda from Texas's quote from a previous private post and using it verbatim? I will take 2$ on an exacta bet on Linda from Texas coming in 1-2...

Nothing came of this huh? I don't want to be no Dick Tracy. Or lead the paranoid parade. I've been trolling pedigree forum since its inception, I've posted a few times I'm only an interested observer.

A new poster shows up on Paceadvanatge last week asking about the Pedigree of a few $1200.00 junk t-breds. In an effort to be helpful I looked into it and I start looking at Warm winds Thoroughbreds.

They are running this organization

I took the guy at face value....but perhaps he was doing what is commonly done. People with a business interest will pose as a customer simply to get traffic to their WWW site.

The thing that got me thinking like this was when I looked into the pedigree I saw the Montcrief and Montbrook line in their stock. When I looked closer at some OBS sales, I saw "Warm Winds Thoroughbred" purchased the a mare from OUT OF PLACE. Who also ties into this...a bit.

It could be nothing, it could be something. Look at this thread on Paceadvantage.

A couple of things got odd after I saw Linda in TX's post a few days ago. I was going to let it go, but today I decided to speak up.

These two people may be totally unrelated....But he seemed to beg me off when I referred him to this forum, which was the day after this thread got started.

If they are connected... The names are not hard to find. They are on their WWW site. The breeder on "MONTY" is Casey Seaman, who bred Valid Video.

I don't know. Maybe I need to get a life or a hobby. But this strikes me as related. I don't want to drag this into PACEadvantage.

I think Boards need to self-police themselves and I am just attempting to help sniff out a Rat. If I am wrong I sincerely apologize. I don't want Paceadvantage involved beyond this post please.

Suff...

Yes, something did come of it. The ad I objected to has been amended.

The only links to web sites in this thread are the ones you posted.

When I looked at the web sites you linked I saw a colt named Moncrief Something-or-other that's called "Monty" for short. He's by Danzig's son Ago, who is totally unrelated to Montbrook. The only connection Moncrief Something-or-other and Montbrook have to each other are the first three letters of their names: M-O-N. As for Warms Winds owning a daughter of Out of Place, they just might. How many daughters do you think Out of Place has Out There...50...100...150...200...?

If you're wondering if I know the person you responded to on the forum you linked the answer is "No." I don't know anyone involved with that racing syndicate either.

Nothing you've written seems to have a relationship to much of anything. In fact, I'm not sure what you're even referring to. But you did manage to add links to web sites to this thread. And maybe that's all your post is about anyway...
