Roman Ruler in the Sprint?
It appears that Bob Baffert is considering the Sprint for Roman Ruler reasoning being that the race will be full of speed and he can close. Comments? I get Imperialism going in the Sprint, but Roman Ruler not so much.

hi austique
Clearly Roman Ruler is a nice horse...but I expect that Baffert doesn't particularly want to take on St Liam, Borrego, Rock Hard Ten etc etc etc in the 2005 BC Classic.
Certainly the BC Sprint is an option...and Roman Ruler just might upset the apple cart there...hmmm. I expect that he might have a better chance in the Sprint than in the Classic.
Team Roman Ruler (including trainer Baffert) might feel the same way.

I think Roman Ruler has proved he is not a top 1 1/4 mile horse, so why go in the Classic to run for place money?
The Vosburgh showed a busted up older sprinter division, perhaps the weakest in years. If RR runs 2nd to LITF in the Sprint he loses no luster and in fact probably gains some. If he were to beat LITF......

I'll second that...and add, if I may, that if Roman Ruler finishes second to anyone in the Sprint (whether it's LITF or not) that would be quite an accomplishment...and if RR were to win it...WOW...that would certainly add quite a luster to his resume.

hi siegy
Regarding Roman Ruler in the BC Sprint, you wrote "but coming home safly across the finish line, that could be a problem, i,am waiting to exhale,"
You might be correct Siegy...we'll see what happens in 2 1/2 weeks. It could be an interesting Sprint, but I hope that all the runners (including Roman Ruler if he's a go) have a safe trip.
Best to you.
