Remote (4yo gelding) runs tonight at Remington Park for a $10,000 tag. He's been performing like he's losing confidence running over his head. This is the first time he's dropped below $25K price tag since summer of 2004. In the field of ten are several old war-horses aged eight and up, who've made over $150,000 in years past. Nobody in the field is moving up through the ranks; they all are troubled as are we.
The local track lists him as one of the three longest-shots at 20:1 on the morning line, but Brisnet calls him fourth of the ten on their "power rating" formula. Hopefully he'll perk up when he senses he's not outclassed this time. He could possibly be claimed, but I would get out with a profit if he is. And he's shown us there is no other way he'll find a profit, without meeting easier company. So wish us luck. It's RP's third race, set for 7:26 CDT.

A nine year old gelding came from sixth to roll in the stretch and win easily. Remote finished within three lengths of the lead. GOOD BOY!
