Fortunate Digger - Update!

Postby austique » Sat Oct 15, 2005 4:16 pm

Misty Golddigger's 2yo colt Fortunate Digger is making his first start at Remington Park Oct 18th going 5 1/2 furlongs. He's a huge colt, so I'm not really sure what he's going to do. Head's up for color lovers, he's a full on sabino with a big blaze, three white socks, roaning and a belly spot

Good luck! Is he your's? Wish it was a week later, 'cause I'll be there the 25th. Does he get his color from mom, or dad?

He belongs to a good friend of my brother's. Total serendipity as I didn't even own the mare at the time. The last time I saw them they were going to start him once or twice at Remington and then save him for Oaklawn. His color comes from his daddy. Although mom has thrown another sabino foal from a different stallion. I guess I'm going to drag myself out to BRD to watch the simulcast. :D

He ran sixth  but he was only beaten 5 lengths and was carried wide the whole way, so maybe he'll improve next out.

Well, a safe trip is goal number one, and that was acheived. He should have certainly gotten alot from that out and should improve by leaps and bounds (and hopefully 6 lengths) on that next out.

Good Racing Luck

Ran into Digger's owners at Wal-mart today and it turns out he showed some discomfort in his hind end after the race which was caused by his stifles not being totally closed due to his large size. He will be off until Oaklawn to give him time to mature :D I'm so happy he's got a good home.
