WOW. A classy finish by Lei Diavolo, Denise!

I caught it on TVG - unfortunately no paddock shot or winner's circle picture to see the Camilla hat.

Congratulations!

A maiden no more

Thanks, Monicabee. It was a very special hat yesterday, so obviously, the mojo worked! I'll be putting it away till we maybe send her to Aqueduct in Nov. Don't want to use up the good vibes.
What fun we had. It was Jon Joyce's first win ever in NY. He used to gallop for Bill Mott in the mornings, so it was a total thrill for him and his family, who showed up in force. I didn't think anybody cheered louder than I do, till I met Jon's mom. :)
"Lina" came out of the race fine, so far. Knock wood.
Her dam and weanling baby half-brother are in the Keeneland sale coming up. Helps her dam's page now to have two starters/two winners.

Denise how marvellous! And free publicity for the upcoming sales too, I hope the price will be good.

Hi Margreet

If you're on the other side of the pond, take a peek at Lei Diavalo's female family...all GB and I, with Italy and Germany, too. Her great grandfather, Star Appeal, won the Arc at 100-1!
Her granddam, Lina Cavalieri, won many races in Italy, though GB bred.

Denise if you are at the barns can you swing by and take a peak at DIDTHETEST for me I would be very interested in what he looks like. I am mostly interested in his legs. His daddy is built like a classic hunter and i am very curious to see if he has passed this look on.
Thanks a bunch,
Judith

We ship into NY, so I didn't see your message in time.
Would he be at Aqueduct when they move? We may go back in a couple weeks, so I'll try to look for you then if so.

Thank you. I'm not sure what the plan is for this youngster. They might just keep him home for a bit. He's going to be a good one so they mgiht just save him for his three year old year.

Denise, your fab hat might be wasted on Aqueduct, though you could maybe start a trend.

BTW, I was looking at some steeplechase stats and noticed that Miles Ahead, half to your other filly, You and Only You, had a perfect 4 of 4 record this year.

Always good to have hardworking siblings improving your page.

We just sold One and Only You to the same woman that bought our other With Approval turfer, and they intend to convert her to a jumper like her brother, Miles Ahead. They wanted to try her one or two more times on the flat before she goes to VA, and unfortunately, she got a very bad ride yesterday at Laurel on the flat. She'll probably get one more shot and
hopefully, she'll be a great jumper like her big bro.
Their baby sister, Last Valentine, is in at Laurel again this week. Special weight on the turf. She's the last foal from Joy Valentine, by Devil His Due. Nice filly....
