Red Ravine Tries The Lawn

Postby austique » Wed Nov 23, 2005 2:17 pm

Red Ravine (Austique's 4yo) will try the grass going 7 1/2 furlongs at Remington Park November 28th in the first race. He won his last out going 1 mile on the dirt. I'm actually excited about this. Austique's family has shown some favor for the grass in the past. Could be a total bust but exciting?

Remington Park ends Nov. 28th, so he's running on the last possible day.

He's 30-1  Understandable, he's never tried the grass, its his first start after running out of his conditions, and his first start out of state bred company since they brought him to Oklahoma. I'm more curious just to see if he handles the turf as mom is going to a turf horse next year although the weather doesn't look good and he may end up on the main track  Looks like there's alot of salty older horses in the race, too.

He did get to run on the grass and he looked like he got over it very well. He closes from way back and got fanned wide coming out of the turn. I hope they'll try him on it again. :D
