Those of you who have contributed to this thread: Please read your post and think very carefully about whether it is appropriate or not. Some of these posts belong in a Private Message.
Those people who are pushing their luck are well aware of who they are. I am losing my patience, as many of you have been warned privately and continue to post inappropriate items. For the last time, if you have something negative to say about someone, take it privately... the rest of us do NOT want to read about it.
Please think twice if you're about to respond to my post as well. I don't think anything more needs to be said about this at all... let's just please be adults and go back to the topic at hand: If you have something useful to post about stallions in California, have at it. Otherwise, please sit on your hands.
WHO's HOT in CALIFORNIA ????

OH come on now Roguelet how long are you going keep warning Michael, Sam, Chiggins, Sandi and now Texas
You know you will never ban any of them without recieving some kind of backlash. They will continue to act like children as long as you allow them to act like children. They know they wil never be disciplined. You play favorites and they know it. lets see you actually do something the next time they bring up anyones name ficticious or not.
Until you do soemthing this board will cease ! it is already losing posters.

Agreed. I'll trash talk with the rest of the guys during the season, but to get truly down and ugly like a lot of the trolls in the two respective newsgroups are doing is beneath me (and not something I ever figured out how to do effectively ANYway. What's the point in posting a few hundred "HAHA, YOU SUCK!" posts?).
Am I going to rub it when the the opposition takes a beating like the Sox did Saturday .. you bet, that's part of the fun. But I'm also willing to take every bit as much as I give and I'm not going to break out the really ugly insults unless the situation warrants it.
I was taking my licks all day today. The only person I unloaded on was some ignorant prick who refused to accept my congrats with dignity and decided to fall back on the tired "Guess money can't by everything, NY got the ass beating it deserves. First 9/11 and now utter humiliation at the hands of their most hated rivals. Life is sweet." shtick. (For the record, it's utterly UNAmerican to bitch about baseball salaries. Free capitalism at is finest, folks. It may be the ugly side of capitalism, but it's the price we pay for living in this society. And for Red Sox fans to whine about payroll ... when Boston has the second highest payroll in MLB by over $50 mil ... is just flat out ridiculous).
It's the tone that a lot of trolls use that I respond to (which has been shown here more often than I'd really like .. but then y'all know I lack any true tolerance/patience for blatant displays of incredible stupidity).
Flooding the Yankees group with a few hundred "YOU SUCK AND YOUR TEAM ARE COWARDLY (insert invective here)" is juvenile. /shrug/ I don't 'suck' (Oh, soo many comments here). I'm not the one being paid to play a kid's game. The team lost; to sit there and think this is bigger than it is and think this "hurts" or that my "world is crumbling around me" is asinine. I'm well aware of the history of the two teams, but there are some people (mostly guys) who take this thing far too seriously.
The ones cracking me up right now are the ones who in one sentence laugh about the "monumental choke" from the Yankees .. and in the very next breath talk about how great the Red Sox are and how they outplayed and outclassed the Yankees. Sorry, you can't have it both ways. Either the Yankees choked, or Boston played better ball ... PICK ONE.
Personally, I don't think either team "outplayed" each other.
Veritek waving off his starter yesterday after the guy called him to the mound was the epitome of what that series had come down to. It was a non-verbal "No way. We've been out here for over 20 hours now. I know my job, you know yours and they know theirs, so lets just do this and go home."
All those guys were on fumes last night, and NO ONE was pitching stellar baseball. The only difference was Boston wasn't swinging at all the crap pitches being thrown by the Yankees. NY was swinging as some truly UGLY pitching. They were tired and unable to do the small ball things it takes to manufacture runs. They'd rather one-swing it; problem was they were too tired to hit the ball hard enough to get it out of the infield.
Hell, the handful of deep flys they hit really weren't even that deep. I don't remember any that made it out to the warning track. Though, to be honest, I'd pretty much stopped watching after the 4th. I'd flick the TV back on long enough to see Boston had added another run or two and watch some Yankee send one right to Cabrera and then I'd turn it off again and try not to think evil thoughts ... I got a lot of cleaning done last night . I know Lucy was still nervous well into the 9th, but I could tell the game was a done deal in the 2nd.
Both teams played well for 5 games. Game 3 was an anomaly that was fun to watch (for a Yankee fan), but was in all probability the death knell for the Yankees and Game 7, to me anyway, was a foregone conclusion.
The two guys who earned my utmost respect after all that were Posada and Veritek. Those two were horses. How many of us could go out there on less than 6 hours sleep and catch 5+ hours of ball for 5 straight games? I was a catcher in jr. high and high school ... that SUCKS. The catcher is the ONLY player on the whole field (excluding the pitcher and that's only if he goes all 9 innings) who is involved in EVERY SINGLE PITCH ON EVERY SINGLE PLAY. Catchers, to me, are without question the hardest working and most under appreciated players on the team and Tek and Posada showed why.
